ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST/CLERK JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Assessment Specialist/Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Assessors Department
REPORTS TO: Assessor and/or Deputy
LOCATION: Washington County, NE
JOB TYPE: Full-Time Position
Description
The Assessment Specialist/Clerk will provide administrative and clerical support to the County’ Assessor’s Office by maintaining and updating property records, filing documents by legal description, and assisting with appraisal and real estate data entry.
Responsibilities

ï‚· Update and maintain property record cards with accurate ownership, valuation, and legal description

information.

ï‚· Organize and file documents by legal description, parcel number, and other classification systems.

ï‚· Assist with data entry and verification of property assessments and tax records.

ï‚· Review property information to ensure accuracy and compliance with local and state regulations.

ï‚· Perform basic mathematical calculations related to property assessments and valuations.

ï‚· Provide customer service by answering inquiries from property owners, real estate professionals, and the

general public.

ï‚· Assist in preparing reports, forms, and other documents for the Assessor’s Office.

ï‚· Work collaboratively with other departments and government agencies, as needed.

ï‚· All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
ï‚· High School diploma or equivalent, required. Additional coursework in real estate, business, or accounting is a
-
plus.

ï‚· Experience in real estate, appraisal, property assessment, or clerical work, preferred.

ï‚· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-
ï‚· Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.

ï‚· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry systems.

ï‚· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

ï‚· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
